Friends of Johns Homestead Park Board members will be hosting Saturday’s at the auction on February 11th and the 18th, serving up some snacks and entertainment. Live music both Saturday afternoons! On Saturday, Feb. 11th we’ll have Todd Eberhardt a banjo player from Nashville and on Saturday, Feb. 18th we’ll have Tucker’s own Colin Gardner playing for us. Stop by, say hello and join in the fun!

This auction will benefit the 50-acre Johns Homestead Park in Tucker, Georgia. The park is home to the historic ca. 1829 Johns Homestead and four ca. 1860 outbuildings, as well as two scenic lakes locally known as Twin Brothers Lakes.

The Friends of Johns Homestead Park (FOJHP) plans to build a boardwalk that would connect the trail systems. The proposed boardwalk will be 110 feet long and six feet wide. Near the midpoint of the boardwalk there will be an 8’ x 16’ deck for wildlife observation. The estimated cost for the project is $67,700. The Friends Group has been awarded a grant to cover a portion of the Boardwalk Project, and are now working to raise the rest of the needed funds for this project.
